About this deal

A royal twist on pass the parcel, you could wrap a parcel up in the shape of a crown, or just use a crown and whoever is holding it when the music stops will get a prize. When it comes to invitation wording, the Royals practically invented the genre. But there’s no need for Court etiquette (or copperplate) on your coronation party invitations . Get your guests excited for the celebrations with jaunty invitation wording such as:

Ask children to pretend that they are the King! For example, ask them to write and give a speech of praise, reflection or encouragement of their people. The celebrations continue into the Monday of the bank holiday weekend when we’ll be encouraged to volunteer in our local areas, as part of The Big Help Out. The aim of this event is to use volunteering to bring communities together, creating a lasting legacy from the Coronation Weekend with a boost of community spirit! Royal Limbo: under a pretend castle gate made from cardboard boxes or streamers, with a cardboard crown or banner hanging above the gate. We’ve also created this awesome King's Coronation Dance Celebration PowerPoint that you can use with your children. It’ll teach your children iconic dances from lots of different decades. There’s also printable King’s Coronation Dance Instructions available for you to use alongside the PowerPoint too. Treat your guests with Coronation party favours to remember the celebrations by. Not only do Coronation keepsakes, novelties and miniature party supplies make wonderful decorations and accessories for your event, they are ideal for filling up party bags for your friends, family, neighbours and community members to take home after the Coronation events are over.

Just because the game is now banned from royal functions, it doesn’t mean you can’t still enjoy playing, if you are still on speaking terms after the last time you played. Who Am I?

The event has been scheduled to coincide with the spring/summer season of 2023, marking 70 years since the Coronation of Queen Elizabeth II in 1953. This makes the celebrations all the more special for many. The ceremony itself is just one of many events which will take place over the bank holiday, with many more celebrations spread across the duration of the weekend.
